Venezuela Tops Italy in Extra Inning Nail Biter

Venezuela bounced back from their blowout against Puerto Rico with an 11-10 win over Italy. Down 5-0 going into the 5th, the Venezuelans looked to be down for the count. However, they fired back with 8 straight runs. Italy quickly tied the game with three runs off of two base hits and an error. Salvador Perez broke the tie with a two-run home run in the top of the 9th. Italy matched it with two runs in the bottom of the 9th. The walk off run was thrown out at home, sending the game to extra innings. Martin Prado hit a game-winning double in the top of the 10th to score Jose Altuve and gain a lead that Venezuela would never relinquish.
