Championship Sunday in the NFL will feature two games, Falcons vs Packers and Steelers vs Patriots. The matchups look to be competitive games, as 4 teams will be vying for a spot in Super Bowl LI.
Game 1: NFC title game: Green Bay Packers vs Atlanta Falcons on Sunday 1/22 at 3:05 pm EST on FOX.
Green Bay and Atlanta both came off impressive wins this weekend against Seattle and Dallas. Both teams have high scoring offenses led by their star quarterbacks Matt Ryan and Aaron Rodgers. However, the defense in this game leaves much to be desired. Both teams have a beat up secondary, as Green Bay has only 8 interceptions this season and Atlanta only has 7 interceptions. These teams share many strengths and weaknesses, making this an interesting game. This game looks to be a shootout with lots of scoring and an absence of defense.
My prediction: Falcons 35-31
Game 2: AFC title game: Pittsburgh Steelers vs New England Patriots Sunday 1/22/17 at 6:40 EST on CBS.
This game will be very similar to the first game, as it will be featuring two star quarterbacks, Ben Roethlisberger and Tom Brady. Both teams came off impressive wins this week, with Steelers topping Kansas City and New England defeating Houston. What will separate the two teams is defense. The Patriots are the number 1 scoring defense as they continue to prove that with their outstanding play on the defensive line. However, something important to note is that when these teams faced earlier this season, Big Ben was not in the lineup. This should will be a thrilling game with lots of scoring and lead changes.
My prediction: Patriots 34-28.
Overall this is poised to be an exciting Championship Sunday. It should be interesting to see who will be going to Houston in 2 weeks.
