Comeback Powers Dominican Republic over USA

Playing before the largest crowd Marlins Stadium has ever housed, the Dominican Republic bested the United States. The United States started the game with a bang, jumping out to a 5-0 lead going into the bottom of the 6th. Adam Jones started the barrage, making it to third off of an error and scoring Ian Kinsler in the process. Christian Yelich followed that up with a double, scoring Jones. In the 4th, Brandon Crawford singled, scoring one. In the 6th, a pair of doubles by Stanton and Crawford put the score at 5-0 and gave the USA the last runs they would score in the game.

Later in the 6th, Manny Machado put the Dominicans on the board with a solo home run. In the 8th, the score was 5-3. A Nelson Cruz 3-run home run completed the Dominican comeback, putting the DR up 6-5. A Marte home run served as insurance, but was ultimately unneeded. In the most electrifying atmosphere of the tournament, the Dominican Republic pulled off an instant classic in the Classic.
