Big 12 Football Predictions: Week 7

Four more conference games are in action in week seven. Who comes away with a win?

Baylor 45, Kansas 24 – The Bears don’t play flawlessly, but they get the job done on both sides of the ball. Offensively, Seth Russell throws for 250 yards and 3 touchdowns, while backup running back Terence Williams rushes a career high 22 times for 150 yards. On defense, Baylor forces 4 turnovers, taking one back for six.

Oklahoma 49, Kansas State 23 – The Sooners get a lot out of Mayfield, Perine, and Mixon with a combined 475 yards from the backfield trio. Kansas State puts up a fight, but it is not close to enough vs an Oklahoma squad riding their confidence over the Red River Rivalry win the week before.

Texas Tech 63, West Virginia 52 – In a very high scoring affair, the Red Raiders squeeze out a win at home. Patrick Mahomes and Skyler Howard both put up ridiculous numbers, but it is Mahomes who has the last laugh with a QB scramble that results in a 40 yard touchdown to put the nail in the coffin. Both defenses, especially the Mountaineers’, are going to hate watching the tapes next practice.

Texas 42, Iowa State 17 – The Cyclones never can get going in this one, struggling to move the chains throughout the whole game. Two long touchdown runs by Mike Warren make the total yards allowed by Texas seem like defense was an issue. Shane Buechele throws for 300 yards and runs for another 60 in the best all-around game of his young career.
